Having tactical communication strategies in place is essential to communications planning, and additionally provides a defined 'yardstick ' by which results can be assessed and methods refined for optimum results. The 'tactical approach' is the difference between hoping for results and targeting results. Communicating 'tactically' is much more complex than merely arranging images and text to fit politely on a printed or web page. The 'tactical approach' involves identifying resources, goals, obstacles and competition ... then planning an 'operation' in accordance with that intelligence so the graphics, illustrations, written copy, public relations strategy and web site content are specifically oriented to the intended audience, and either take into account, or counter, your competitor's efforts ...its a chess game and the stakes are high.
