This symbol was designed as an annual promotional item for the Chinese market. 2002 was the year of the 'iron' horse and therefore the horse was rendered in a 'metallic' look. Red is a powerful color to the Chinese as are gold and black, so the symbol's design used all three colors. As opposed to using image mixtures in this symbol, Chinese text was used to convey the appropriate New Year messages.
