Symbol designed for Chinese New Year

This symbol was designed as an annual promotional item for the Chinese market. 2004 is the year of the wood / green monkey and in the Hsia calendar is symbolized by two elements – with wood sitting on top of metal. This is represented in the textures of the image [wood and jade] and which also incorporates the Chinese character for the monkey within the circle. The symbol design incorporates the Chinese character for the monkey for obvious reasons, and the design also has an English language bezel describing the details of the Monkey Year. The "wood / green monkey" in this symbol's design uses jade and wood for the effect.
