The Picture Archive from Your Patriotic Political Pundit |
|
If you've arrived on this page first, the Modern Feudal Serf is the "Patriotic Political Pundit" in Canada. 'The Serf' refuses to get drawn off issues and lured down the path of intriguing tangents. "Keep it simple and on-topic", he says. The Canadian political system is flawed and open to serious abuse. Events such as AdScam and the Gomery Inquiry, Gurmant Grewal and TapeGate and other notable issues underscore the need for deep political change and restructuring. Canada, now more than ever, is in desperate need of a legitimate, proper constitution that defines the role and limits of government. The Serf writes and comments on these issues. Sometimes serious, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes humorous, but always on the level and with common sense. Read the BLOG! or the Summarized Archive |

Article: 04 July 2005 The True Canadian Identity?Excerpt: We are, in many respects a divided country …along lines of ethnicity, sexuality and language. There is an old maxim that says “United we stand …divided we fall” and history supports how very true that is. So the real question is “who have we been conquered by?” |

Article: 04 June 2005 Dumb, Dumb, Dumb and Dumber
Excerpt:
Follow the motives. On one hand you have a minor-league MP who may or may
not gain some advancement (shades of Jezzebel Stronach) by crossing the
floor and/or by voting a certain way on the budget. On the other are two
operatives representing a minority government on the brink of a defeat,
representing a loss of all that coveted power and influence. Take into
account also that those two operatives represent an organization that is
oblivious to ethics in its pursuit of power. |

Article: 02 June 2005 Public funds should NOT be used to deal with a problem of the Liberal Party of Canada. Period. If the Liberal party has a problem with their credibility, the Liberal Party should be paying from its own treasury to deal with it. To take that million or so dollars from the public treasury represents a theft and conversion of funds …particularly where those funds were forced from people who do not support the Liberal Party of Canada! |
Article: 03 June 2005 Nobility in the House of Commons?Excerpt: Our Parliamentary system functions on the basis of political parties counter-balancing each other by virtue of debate in the House of Commons. Theoretically that should work …except it doesn’t because of one glaring flaw. The flaw is that from about one second after any particular election, politicians of all persuasions are on the campaign trail setting up for the next election. |

Article: 04 May 2005
Excerpt: Was everyone in the party or government involved? Of course not! However (contrary to some excusist types) “a few rogue individuals” would not be capable of orchestrating, carrying on and concealing their activities so well (over such a long period of time) without help from some very influential players. Period. Between testimony and confessions, the Gomery Inquiry has already established that the crimes DID occur. Furthermore it has established that the cadre responsible were Liberal insiders and intimate supporters.
