This community event logo has been used annually for the city's spring fair since
1997 with only the year value changing each year.
The logo design incorporates several elements unique to the event and the city. The
ocean wave connotes its seaside location, the surrounding ribbon connotes the high
hills trailing down to the beach level promenade, the gear and dogwood flower
combination symbolize the spring event sponsored by local business, and the
typeface used conveyed a festive (rather than official) message.
Community logo designs take into account as many indigenous characteristics as
possible without being cluttered.
The logo was for use on pens, clothing and printed materials and is updated each
year to reflect the correct year number
