Where this crest design was concerned, it was taken into account that the owner served in the Canadian Navy and therefore the vessel's crest follows classic 'regimental' construction. The maple leaf clearly designates a Canadian registry, the Pacific Dolphins denote the west coast home harbour and the marine signal flags spell the name of the craft. The owner's request was that the boat's crest design be both conservative and colourful.

Mariners will note that the signal flags around the
crest spell the vessel's name " HOT TODDY "
